Adidas Originals has been around long enough to know that the best way to gussy up a classic shoe that’s been around since the Nixon administration is to use nontraditional materials. Previously we’ve seen patent leather, ostrich and even snakeskin, but in the case of this upcoming Superstar 2 the grey fleece is an apt callback to the shoe’s roots as something worn by gym rats in the musty basketball courts of yesteryear. The signature rubber shelltoe in white is complemented by the heathered fleece upper and navy twill on the stripes and heel tab. Available soon from Styles .
