Cockatiels are very attractive birds. In fact, they are tied at three with parakeets and canaries as the bird of the most popular company in the world. Their small, loving personality, and easy to tame cockatiel bird ideal for many.
Assigned to the subfamily Calyptorhyhchinae cockatoos, the cockatiel is native to the inland regions of Australia Outback. In Australia, it is called a Quarrion or Weero. The cockatiel was first recorded during the voyage of Captain Cook to Australia in 1781.
A bird good for beginners or families with children in the cockatiel has some health problems and is very enjoyable to watch.
